Shaping The Maritime Future with Kongsberg Maritime

Shaping The Maritime Future with Kongsberg Maritime

Kongsberg Maritime delivers integrated maritime technology that reduces complexity, improves efficiency, and enables confident decision-making across the vessel lifecycle. With equipment installed on more than 30,000 vessels worldwide and operations spanning 35 countries, we combine scale, engineering depth, and operational insight to help customers adapt and compete.

A heritage built on engineering and integration

Kongsberg Maritime’s experience is rooted in more than a century of maritime engineering excellence with highly integrated vessel solutions. That legacy continues through a global workforce of more than 8,000 specialists, supported by strong local teams in key maritime hubs, including across Asia Pacific.

Our approach is shaped by one core principle: vessels perform best when systems work together. Rather than treating propulsion, power, automation, and control as standalone components, we design and deliver them as part of a unified system. This integrated approach reduces technical risk, improves operational efficiency, and protects long-term asset value.

Serving diverse ocean space markets

Kongsberg Maritime operates across a wide range of ocean space markets, including offshore wind, oil and gas, LNG, seaborne transport, cruise and passenger, tugs, fisheries, aquaculture, and naval.

Across these segments, common drivers are reshaping demand: an ageing global fleet, stricter environmental regulation, rising energy costs, and the need for safer, more efficient operations. Fleet renewal and vessel upgrades are accelerating, with increasing focus on energy efficiency, electrification, and system integration.

Our long experience in technically demanding offshore operations provides a strong foundation for growth in emerging areas such as offshore wind and other renewable energy applications. These markets demand reliable technology, high levels of redundancy, and precise control — areas where Kongsberg Maritime has deep, proven expertise.

A long-term partner for the ocean space

The maritime energy transition will not follow a single path. Fuel availability, vessel type, operating profile, and regional regulation all influence the pace of change. Kongsberg Maritime’s approach focuses on practical decarbonisation — delivering solutions that reduce emissions today while preparing vessels for future fuels.

By supporting both newbuilds and retrofits, we help customers navigate regulatory requirements and investment decisions with confidence. We work closely with owners, operators, and shipyards across the full lifecycle — from design and construction to operation, upgrade, and service. Our global service network ensures local support, backed by deep engineering expertise.

PT Kongsberg Maritime Indonesia (KMI), based in Jakarta and Batam since August 2025, supports Indonesian shipowners and industry partners with access to Kongsberg Maritime's global technology and lifecycle solutions. As an associate member of Indonesian National Shipowners’ Association, KMI works closely with shipowners and partners, including the recent MoU with PT PAL Indonesia, supported by in-country commercial and service teams to assist with vessel upgrades, operational efficiency, and evolving requirements.

As the maritime industry continues to evolve, Kongsberg Maritime remains focused on one objective: helping customers operate safely, efficiently, and sustainably — today and into the future.
